Christmas Wonderland will stay lively in downtown Marysville as the community gathers for the Christmas Wonderland Sing-a-Long Festival. This is a come-and-go afternoon, with activities happening throughout the park.
A sing-a-long will be offered on the half hour, giving visitors plenty of chances to jump in for familiar Christmas carols while they enjoy the rest of Christmas Wonderland. Guests are encouraged to wear ugly sweaters and take part in a candy cane hunt. The festival will also include appearances by the Grinch and a petting zoo provided by G&C Petting Zoo of Holton, Kan.
The Marysville Volunteer Fire Department will be in charge of the fire pits and will host a chili feed with a freewill donation. Across the street from Christmas Wonderland, the Evangelical United Church of Christ (205 S. 10th St.) will provide a hot chocolate bar.
Games will be offered during the festival, including cornhole and a snowball fight using fake snowballs. Both activities will take place on Elm Street, which will be closed to traffic between 9th Street and 10th Street to create space for the games.
Christmas Wonderland is a seasonal downtown display created for families and visitors to enjoy throughout the Christmas season. The lights, décor and photo spots are open for the community to experience during the season, whether stopping by for a quick walk-through or making it part of a holiday evening downtown.
Families can also plan to visit Santa earlier in the day. Santa will be in his house from noon to 2 p.m. on the northern edge of Christmas Wonderland.
